Feeling "Blue" in our Summer Great Room

Greetings!

Isn't it funny how our tastes change?  Admittedly, I feel as though mine changes more than the average gal.  One minute, I love red, the next ... not so much.  One day, I tell myself I'll never use navy blue in our main rooms again, and then ... this.

I'm just going to blame it on our white sofa.  It just calls out to play with different colors since it's such the perfect backdrop ... for me, anyway.

I'm also going to blame it on Home Goods.  It seems as though they've been overloaded this season (or year) with blue, blue, blue.  And, I found myself drawn to it.

Like this pillow ... how could I resist it (?) since the blue ties in with the solid blue pillows; the burlap ties in with our white with burlap trimmed pillows; and the black lettering ties in with our black frames ... and, most importantly, the price tied in with my budget!

And, then there was pretty vase calling out to me on "aisle 9" of Home Goods ... of course, I was bummed it didn't have a twin because you must "know" how addicted to symmetry I am.  I decided to scoop it up, anyway and am glad I did!

How have I forgotten how pretty and crisp blue and white are mixed together?!

Of course, I have to always dress our mantel up for the season, and, somehow, a little blue and white found its way over there, too.

Wanna guess where I found the cute matching vases?

I'll give you a hint ... it's the "same" place I found this awesome blanket!

Feel free to come "GATHER" with me while you figure out the answer!

Shame on you Home Goods ... shaaaame!

I love how these colors all play so well together and can't believe it took me almost 15 years to incorporate navy back into our great room decor!  I might have to keep around for awhile ...

and figure out where "else" can I add it?  Just please don't let me go back to Home Goods for awhile!

Thanks for stopping by,

  5. Becca, I have the same problem when I go to Home Goods. Its a bad place for me. I love how the navy looks in your room. I have sworn off blue for so long I am going to have a hard time adding any in because I have too much green. So sad because there are so many cute blue things now. Love your room. Thanks for sharing.

  8. LUV!!!! That pillow!! How could you not get it!
What is it with blue?! We haven't had blue anywhere for 20 years. Now all of a sudden the Mr. and I are swooning over blue. He chose a blue car last month, and we both fell in luv with an indigo and white rug. I gushed over blue and white dishes and my Son and DIL got them for me. I see a change coming soon to Chez Newbanks!

  12. This room is calling out to me in a big way - I love it all! I am looking to change my area rug in my family room and have been looking at the jute rugs from Pottery Barn, but now I am really liking the look of your seagrass rug. I have a dog and a cat plus lots of family who practically live in this room and need something that can take lots of abuse. Not concerned about softness, we have lots of floor pillows, just need it to look great and be sturdy. Can you let me know how yours has held up? Thank you

  14. Yes, SHAME on them. I blame them for more pillows that I didn't need coming into my house. I love the touches of navy, my favorite color even though I don't use it much in my house. I do wear a lot of it though. I think HomeGoods needs to hire us for all this advertising. :)

  17. Beautiful Becca! You know what they say, never say never or in your case never say no to Navy. LOL! I can tell you in the embroidery business Navy has made a huge comeback over the last year. It is one of the go to colors of choice for almost everything we are embroidering for customers. I love the changes you have made in both rooms! I have to admit I am totally smitten with the whole line of denim make market items at Michaels. I just can't figure out what to do with them yet and where to work it into my home but I really am so drawn to it. I bet you could whip up a whole new look for me. Love your on a whims!
