Our 2016 Christmas Tour, Part One ...

Welcome to our holiday home here in Virginia ... come on in!

When you step into our foyer, our tree is waiting to greet you.  This year, I decorated it in shades of red, white and green, with a bit of whimsy!

Beside it on our buffet, I brought back our "BELIEVE" blocks that have made the rounds over the years from mantels ... to windows ... to shelves ... to right here!  A pair of lanterns from Kirkland's got fancied up a bit with greenery, ribbon and fairy lights ... hope they approve of their holiday attire!

If you look past our tree, you'll see our *friend* bundled up in a festive red scarf.

He joins us singing "We Say Merry Christmas!"

To the left of our foyer is the sitting room ...

where I continued the same red, white and green color scheme.  While I toned down a lot of the holiday red in the other rooms, my hubby almost insisted we keep lots of the festive color in here.  Of course, I was happy to oblige.

This year, instead of having a full-sized tree, we opted for this cute 4 ft. tree (Wal-Mart).  While I miss having a larger tree in here, I won't miss taking it down after the holidays!

Here on our mantel, Santa is keeping watch over everything, and everyone, especially our 10 year old! ;)

Speaking of the jolly man himself ... he just pulled up in his cute, little red truck to step outside onto the fresh *snow* and check his list ... again!

I recently removed the glass panes from our antique secretary and then filled it with little metal houses and cute nutcrackers, who now have an easy escape!

Annnnd, just in case we do have a "white christmas," I'm ready to toss the greenery and skates off of our vintage sled and go for a cruise in the snow!

Let's take a stroll to our sunroom, but please shut your eyes as we pass through the dining room, great room and kitchen (I'll share those next time)!  ;)

Here in our back hallway, you'll pass by this cute accent table I recently found at Kirkland's.  I moved this pretty mirror (also from Kirkland's) from the great room mantel right here, and think I really like them together.  I'll probably make their pairing *official* and hang the mirror here after the holidays.

Our sweet caroling family will serenade you with "Silent Night" as you walk by.

Here in our sunroom, this is the first Christmas with the "somewhat" newly shiplapped walls ... I can't say it enough how much we love them!  They're the perfect backdrop for a bit o' holiday cheer (or "peace")!

While I had first brought in grey holiday accents, I ended up replacing them with red instead ... there's just something about crisp red and white this time of year!

Admittedly, I'm going to hate taking down these fun stars from IKEA ... sooooo, maybe I'll just keep them up a bit longer after Christmas!  I love how they softly illuminate the window at night ... they help make this little room pretty cozy!

The sunroom really earns its name in the morning ...

love when the morning light streams in and "highlights" our holiday pieces.

Well, I won't keep you any longer, but truly hope you'll stop back by to see more of our holiday home!

Thanks so much for visiting!

2016 Christmas Snippets ...

Happy December, friends!!

I hope you all had wonderful Thanksgiving holiday with your family and friends and are now knee deep into your Christmas decor!

I'm all finished (yay!) and just wanted to share a few snippets of our how our home looks right now ....

Traditional holiday colors greet you when you walk into our foyer and look to the left towards our sitting room ... this cute, little red truck drove all night to park itself right here on our "snow" covered ottoman!

Once you pass by the sitting room and walk towards the left, you're greeted by our "Winter wonderland" dining room ...

Passing through the dining room, you're then greeted by our kitchen, where, of course, I had to add a bit of holiday red and whimsy!

On the other side (but sharing the same open space as our kitchen) is our great room, where white, silver and "burlap-y" colors are dominating as this year's color choice in here!

And, while I love the winter-y colors, I had to add more red in our newly shiplapped sunroom ... just love the red/white contrast in here!

Our bedroom got into the spirit, too ... must be because of the new shelf I just added (and hope doesn't come crashing down)!

I hope you'll stop back by in the coming days as I share more of our holiday home!

Thanks for visiting!

Our 2016 Fall Dining Room

Happy Tuesday!

Well, here we are ... two days away from Thanksgiving.  How can that be(?) ...  weren't we just celebrating the 4th of July?!

Before the holiday comes and goes, I wanted to share our Fall dining room with you, where, this year, muted tones won out over more vibrant Autumn colors.

Mr. Roo came out of hibernation to take center stage on our Fall table.

I hope he approves that I recently painted the top of the table White Dove ... it was time.  I had been fighting the urge for too long and finally grabbed my paint brush and just did it!

He kept watch over our Fall table, including our "give thanks" bowls, which held faux pumpkins for a bit of seasonal whimsy.

He took his job seriously, even keeping an eye on the corner cabinet, which also got a coat of White Dove.

Over on our sideboard ... an old window, pumpkins and cotton helped to make it feel like Autumn is in the air!

And since I wanted to add a bit more brass this year, I was happy to scoop up a pair of candlesticks from a local thrift store!

Over on our mirrored accent chest, I kept it pretty simple and added texture by tossing a few wine corks into a wine glass.

Now, while Mr. Roo might think he's the star of the show, I'd have to disagree by saying that our Fall tree is!

I love decorating this tree every year (and, yes, it's an excuse to have a lighted tree added in August)!

I embellish it with cute owls, pinecones and other seasonal ornaments ... but, most of all, I love decorating it with pictures of family.

Admittedly, since we're not hosting Thanksgiving this year, I can tell you that our room looks nothing like this today!  Yes, it has already been transformed into a "Winter wonderland," which I look forward to sharing with you soon!

Well, friends ... I hope you all have a Happy Thanksgiving, blessed with family and friends!

Thanks for visiting,

Jord Wood Watch and Giveaway

Happy Monday, friends!

Recently, I was contacted by the kind folks at JORD to ask if I'd be interested in receiving one of their fabulous handcrafted wood watches to feature.  Well, of course I would ... it's always the perfect *time* (pun intended, ha) to enjoy a new timepiece, isn't it?!

When their watch arrived, I was impressed as soon as I opened the package to be greeted by this fabulous wood box!  A sign of things to come ...

When you open the box, the presentation factor continues ... inside was the piece I chose (JORD's fabulous Frankie Dark Sandalwood and Slate watch, with copper accents).  I was so pleased ... especially since it looks exactly like it does on their website.

I was also pleased with how featherlight JORD's watch is, especially compared to very heavy watches I've worn in the past ... truly a unique watch!

JORD's attention to detail doesn't stop there ... their watches are powered by Swiss movement and an "uncomplicated straight line strap."  Their watches aren't just for women, either ... they have a handsome line of cool men's watches, too, which can be seen HERE!

And, thanks to their online wrist measuring guide, they sized my watch before sending it to me so that it was ready to slip on and be enjoyed as soon as it arrived!

Look at the hand craftsmanship ... I still find it hard to believe it's natural wood!

As a gal who normally wears "blingy" watches, I love how classic, streamlined, versatile and uncomplicated my JORD watch is!  I can dress it up ...

or wear it by itself to take center stage!  Either way, this watch does not disappoint!

With the holidays fast approaching, a JORD watch would make the perfect gift for a family member ... or yourself!  If you'd like to shop my Frankie watch (which comes in several other amazing options), please click HERE.

I have a fun surprise, too ... JORD has generously launched a contest for my kind readers!  One lucky person will win a $75 e-gift code to use on JORD's website!  And, just for entering, everyone (except for the $75 e-gift code winner) will win a $20 e-gift code!  Please click HERE to enter ... you'll be glad you did!

**The contest will close on November 27, 2016 at 11:59 p.m.  Both the $75 and $20 coupon codes must be enjoyed by February 28, 2017.**

This post was sponsored by JORD Wood Watches, but all opinions expressed are my own.

Thanks for stopping by and good luck!
