Happy Sunday! Okay, I simply canNOT believe that we're already into December! I hope that all of you have been smarter than me and have started (if not finished) your holiday shopping! I need to put it into high gear this week and start crossing things off my list!
In the meantime, here are some pics of my Christmas dining room! Admittedly, I absolutely loved decorating this room this year because I recently redid it. The walls used to be metallic chocolate brown and reds, golds and greens dominated this space. I lightened this space up by painting the walls BM Manchester Tan. I also traded the china hutch for an antique sideboard ... slipcovered some of the chairs ... added a huMONGO mirror and floating shelves (that will probably come crashing down any second), and added gold/satin-y panels, raising them almost to the ceiling.
So, I'll be quiet now and just let you take a peek (feel free to click on any picture to enlarge it):
I placed two manzanita branches, along with a few smaller white filler branches in my mercury glass vase and randomly hung ornaments consisting of red/apple green/silver balls, snowflakes and icicles! All ornaments (except for the icicles) are from Wal-Mart ... score!
The table is *prettied up* with white and silver snowflake china I found at Target. I added mercury glass votives to the middle of each plate and dripped silver and clear beads around it.
I love how it looks lit up at night:
Above the table, I *bling-a-fied* our chandie by adding soft garland ... crystals ... beaded garland and glittery words of "joy," "peace" and "noel."
Glancing over at the sideboard, you'll see I added festive, inexpensive garland (from Big Lots), along with nutcrackers decked out in silver glitter and sequins! I absolutely love the horsemen nutcrackers I spotted not too long ago at Home Goods!
And, what's an apothecary jar without snow and ornaments tossed in?
Of course, I had to throw a few ornaments in the bowl perched on my tea service:
The floating shelves have just a tad of garland from Big Lots, along with more of the snowflake china:
And, I decided to keep my plates wrapped in twine, with family pictures ... I just added a few glittery snowflakes to Christmas them up a bit!
Well, friends, the dinner bell is about to ring !!
After you're done eating, you should hop on over to these fabulous blogs and join the festive parties:
Take care,
WOW! Your dining room could be a show room...so elegant and pretty! Loving the big, colorful ornaments too! My sister and I got my mother that same snowflake china set from Target a couple years ago for her to use for the New Year party! Also, thank you so much for your sweet e-mail the other day!

ReplyDeleteSimply spectacular!!! How do you do it? I love the way you have limited to the use of traditional colors. I've thought of doing the same in my foyer but I'm not sure I have it in me. Target and Big Lots... now I know your secret! He he.
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking up to my blog party! You are the life-the-party :D
Another home run Becca. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteDing dong... I'm here for dinner :) It all looks so beautiful Becca. I love the evening look with the candles lit. I'm just about finished Christmas gift shopping, now I have to wrap it all!

ReplyDeleteReally beautiful job! I too love those horse riding nutcrackers. So neat; I've never seen any like it!
ReplyDeleteI cannot get over the difference from last year to this year. I thought last years was above and beyond, but this just takes the cake!!! It is so beeeee-uuuuu-tiful!!!! Oh... I love it!!! I have my dining room left, one tree and the outside and I should be done! I finally did my mantle. You will have to check it out! Girl... you need to be on that tour again to just show everyone how different and gorgeous it is this year!!!
ReplyDeleteThis room is so beautiful! You are totally making me want to neutralize because it really makes your decorations stand out more. I feel like mine are competing with all the other stuff and color in the room, ya know? I may be making some color changes in my home after Christmas. I just dread painting! Hate it! Loved this and all your other posts!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, your dining room is gorgeous. Everything is just perfect!

Hey friend! Well, first of all I love that my favorite mantel is now your header and now you just gave me one more room to stalk! I mean, seriously, this could NOT be more gorgeous! I cracked up at the new word you created "bling-i-fied"! :-)I am just loving how this room has a distinct feel with the lighter tones and yet you added pops of color to tie it into the rest of the house's decor. Your chandi is unreal and the centerpiece is to die for!
ReplyDeleteTruly a masterpiece girl!
Hope you have a great Monday!
Vanessa

ReplyDeleteWowsers! You are quite talented, leaving me feeling like a with zero taste. However, I'm going to follow you so that perhaps through osmosis I too will find some hidden talent within me.
ReplyDeleteCheers!
Becca, it's gorgeous! Love what you did!
ReplyDeleteBecca, I just love looking at all your holiday decorations. You are really gifted at this. I don't live in a neighborhood with nice lady friends. The neighbors to the right of me are who we bought our property from and they are older than us and the neighbors on my other side are very nice, but it is men and no ladies. So no close neighbors or friends. That's o.k. my family will see it. Thanks so much for joining the party.
ReplyDeleteOh Becca you are so talented. I just adore everything you do! Looks fantastic. I joined Kim's party too, I am having so much fun beeboppin around tonight.
ReplyDeleteYou've mixed metallics with traditional Christmas colors for a very dramatic style! I love it! ♥
