I'm keeping this short and sweet, but wanted to share something that we've wanted to do for a long time ... we *finally* got new carpet!
BEFORE: Not *too* bad ... in PICTURES! But, up close ... it had a much different story to tell! Trust me!
DURING: Goodbye boring, flat builder-grade carpet filled with pet stains, kiddo stains, food/drink stains annnnd, yes, paint stains (not to mention lots of pink undertones, which I never truly noticed until after seeing this picture)!
AFTER: Well, hello Mohawk SmartStrand Silk "Rum Cake" carpet! The fine folks from Lowe's installed it for us, and we couldn't have been more pleased with the installers' promptness, skill and professionalism.
I LOVE how lush and semi-shaggy this carpet is ... the padding is nice and thick, too! Our Dyson is not quite sure what to do with carpet that it doesn't glide over ... it actually has to work now! LOL
We also had Jax's bedroom and "guest room turned playroom" done in this carpet, as well. Our 4th bedroom (which is John's office) is hardwood. Yes, this was definitely a "why didn't we do this years ago" project !! I'm sure many of you have those types, as well!
I hope you all have a great weekend. I'm going to go roll around some more on the new carpet! LOL
Thanks for stopping by,
Becca
So pretty, Becca! It really brightens the room and makes your furniture and accessorizing come to life. I am noticing things that I didn't notice before, those embellishments over the windows (not sure what they are called...lol!)but did you have those there before in a darker color, did you paint those white? If so, they look great. Your room is amazing! Love the flowy dust ruffle.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy that carpet, I bet it feels great on the tootsies! ;) Have a great weekend! xo ~Liz
Becca,
ReplyDeleteIt's gorgeous. I know you will enjoy your new carpet!
Happy weekend,
Kathy
It's so pretty. You can really see the difference when you look at the picture w/out the bed and the finished product. The name rocks.
ReplyDeleteWow, you really can tell a difference!! Don't you just love it?! I love the smell of new carpet...I know, call me 'twisted'...lol!!
ReplyDeleteIt looks great, Becca! As for the Dyson, when we moved to our current (& "forever") home, we found that our Dyson works so much better because it's a much higher grade of carpet than we had before -- the suction is incredible. New carpet makes such a huge difference.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful carpet, I'm a little envious, we need to get our upstairs carpet replaced, but I don't see that happening anytime soon. I bet it must be heaven walking on such a nice carpet.
ReplyDeletewe got new carpet in our bedroom 2 years ago after our mini flood and i love it! we plan on putting the same carpet in the other 2 bedrooms as well.
ReplyDeletehappy rolling!!
Oh it is gorgeous. I just want to get rid of all carpet and have hardwoods. You did pick a super carpet out though. Gorgeous. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteLooks great! I love new carpet! It really does lighten up the room!
ReplyDeleteWe are having Smart Strand carpet installed very soon in the color Summer Sky, along with new tile in the bathroom & kitchen, plus granite counter tops and a back splash. :)
ReplyDeleteBecca- It looks beautiful!! Aren't you glad to have it look and feel all nice and fresh and clean? Perfect- xo Diana
ReplyDeleteIt's a pretty neutral, Becca! I love a soft carpet under foot in a bedroom. We are finishing up hardwood {from carpet} in the living areas and will replace the carpet in the two bedrooms.
ReplyDeleteLove the new carpet...and the name of it too! (:>)
ReplyDeleteIt looks so cushy and so fresh!
Enjoy!

ReplyDeleteHi Becca! Oh, your new carpet is so pretty and so is your bedroom! Love it so much. Thank you so much for popping in to see me and your sweet comments on my glitter houses.
ReplyDeletebe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Great carpet choice! I love the newer shags that are available today. We need to do something with all of the carpeted areas on the main floor of our house - can't decide if we should spend the $$$ on hardwoods throughout the space or not since we don't plan to be here too much longer.
