Can you believe that Thanksgiving is only a few short weeks away ?! I can't ... where has this year gone ?!
I thought I'd share part of our breakfast area today. Some of you may remember that I painted our dry bar this past summer ... it went from this:
To THIS (I painted one coat of Annie Sloane's Old White chalk paint, followed by two coats of Chateaux Grey). I then distressed it a bit and waxed (clear). I also removed the center, glass doors to allow for more of a display area. Here it is dressed for Fall:
My white ceramic roo from Home Goods (last year), nestled on raffia and a glass cake stand:
I filled a cream soup tureen with a few Fall picks ... you can see the *Menu* chalkboard peeking through in the back that I created out of black poster board and chalkpaint markers:
Another one of the beautiful, handcrafted velvet pumpkins that I won in a giveaway hosted by a sweet blogging buddy, Lela:
Up above, the shelves have a few little pieces of Fall, too. I recently bought the stainless "Give Us this Day our Daily Bread" piece from GoodWill for only $2!
Simplicity:
And, you may have spied my new rooster prints that I found at Kirkland's earlier this Spring ... perfect for Fall!
Admittedly, though, I have to laugh because this area no longer looks as it does in the above pictures ... it has already been transformed for Christmas! And, I look forward to sharing it all with you soon!
In the meantime, come on over and play at these fabulous parties:

As always, thanks for stopping by!
Oh Becca, this turned out just beautifully. I have been wanting to paint by cherry cabinets in my kitchen and you have just given the right inspiration :)Now I just need to decide on a color?
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for sharing,
Chrissy
It came out great Becca! I chalk painted all of my kitchen cabinets too.
ReplyDeleteThat is a beautiful transformation.
ReplyDeleteLove all your fall decor in this area. I am so glad you reminded me of what your cabinets look like in the chalk paint. I am going to paint over my black ones eventually because they are scratched up and the paint is just wearing off. So much for a furniture finish that the painter said they would have. Not.
ReplyDeleteOh it looks beautiful! I love the tranformation of the cabinets. Paint can be amazing sometimes.
ReplyDeleteLove love love it, but can't help but ask where is all the Christmas decor?!?! Just kidding... I know that's tomorrow post. ha ha
ReplyDeleteI love this time of year to decorate because the stores are so anxious to bring out the Christmas crap that now I can get all my fall decor crap for huge percentages off!!! Yeah.
gorgeous colour and I love the decor.
ReplyDeleteYour dry bar area looks fabulous! I have the same rooster pictures from Kirklands! Love that place!
ReplyDeleteLooks awesome Becca! I love that cute little velvet pumpkin too. Cute roos of course, I would love those.
ReplyDeleteYour cabinets looks great painted in the chalk paint! I wish we still lived in our own home (we are in military housing now) so I could paint my cabinets with chalk paint. The colors you used turned out so pretty! Love your white ceramic pumpkin and your velvet pumpkin! Mr. Rooster is looking good too. I am sure your Christmas decor looks just as nice.
ReplyDeleteHaha, Becca! You are too much! I don't even want to deal with opening the Christmas bins up yet. I feel like I'm still just unpacking from the move! Love your dry sink area. You always put just the right amount of stuff in your displays; this is lovely!
ReplyDeleteLove the color of your cabinets and I like the granite choice, too! Your fall accents are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteNo, I can't believe that Thanksgiving is just a few short weeks away. Crazy, isn't it?
Thanks for sharing, lovely, as always! xo ~Liz

ReplyDeleteIt looks gorgeous Becca! Still can't believe how much it transformed it when you painted. Love how it looks like a piece of furniture and is that the same color you did on your island? Beautiful! Seriously love that you have it already decorated for Christmas. LOL! I have been holding myself back but since you started...well...you know how much I love to follow in your footsteps! :-)
