Question of the Day ...

Okay, so *why* is it that when I set out to complete ONE project (in this case, simply painting the walls/ceiling in our master bedroom to FINALLY match the window treatments I added a year ago) ...

that it spirals into things like ... oh ... adding new fabric:

switching out furniture:

a trip to HomeGoods:

an unexpected order of chalk paint:

a touch of pink for Valentine's Day:

*way* too much time looking (and still looking) for a super deal on one of these (from Amazon.com):

annnnnd, winding up in our master bathroom, wielding my paint brush while my eyes start to spasm with ideas ?!  Anyone care to give me the answer ?!  Anyone ... anyone ...

Welcome to my world ... please tell me you're my neighbor.  LOL

Thanks for stopping by!

  2. Neighbors? Don't you live in the room next door to mine... LOL! I know, we are so bad. It just evolves into a full blown do-over once you start doesn't it? I am sure, absolutely sure, it will be envy inducing once you reveal all!

  3. This is why I always hesitate before starting a new project, because the same thing happens to me! BTW, have you looked at Overstock for chandeliers? I have seen similar ones to the one you are eyeing.

  4. Yes, a simple job usually snowballs like that. Not sure why. Can't wait to see the reveal. Have you checked overstock.com for the chandelier. Here is one I found on there for you. You can just go on overstock.com and put in chandeliers and you will see it on the first page. http://www.overstock.com/Home-Garden/Crystal-Chrome-3-light-Chandelier/4268146/product.html

  5. I think it is the Decorating Devil having his way with us! It NEVER fails that when I start one project I end up doing a whole lot more than I ever planned. Let's just say that tomorrow, if things go well, I am painting a small BLACK TV cream color so that it disappears into my small sitting room. Sad, huh? Painting a TV?

I can't wait to see your project all done. Your components so are are wonderful! xo Diana

  12. I think that's why I get frozen sometimes in the middle of projects, because I have so many ideas floating in my head and want to do them all. Is that decorator ADD? lol Can't wait to see your finished bedroom!

  13. I think they need to make a medication for people like all of us, Becca! I also think it helps keep those of us that have indoor Winter climates sane to have projects to do inside the house.

  14. yup, I think that most of us bloggers are pretty much the same. We're home decor obsessed (I suppose that is why we blog about it too =) You're in good company!

  17. Girl, I have no clue why this sort of thing happens. I suppose we then realize the room has to completely come together and if we do not go from one thing to another, it WON'T come together. At least in my mind I think that way. I have had three projects going today...of course ONE did not work out LOL!

  18. Oh Yes!!! I know what you mean, it's so scary how your mind just goes off the track and suddenly you are transported to another project some where other than where you are supposed to be. Its funny your beautiful material is also my beautiful material, A friend of mine just made me gorgeous valances for my office with that! I love it! Can't wait to see what you are up to. xoxo Jeanette

  21. I know...one thing just leads to another...and before ya know it, you have a whole new room! (:>)

I love decorating, but don't do too much anymore now that I am 61. I just buy a few new pieces once in awhile and get rid of other things.

I have wanted to paint all of my bedroom furniture in my front guest room, but I KNOW that is a huge job, and so I never have started it.

I love Kirklands. I have been wanting to go there. I hope I win!

    Love, Linda

  26. I can totally relate! I think it happens to everyone. One thing leads to another. Maybe it's better that we forget that or we would probably never start a new project. We would feel too overwhelmed from the get go! I love all the sneak peeks of your changes so far. Can't wait to see it completed!

  27. LOL! It's called the creative process Becca! You got the creative juices flowing ...which is like creative crack! Yep, I'm your neighbor!
