Christmas(?) ... what Christmas?! That was *ages* ago! LOL. And, now that it's over, it's time to spread the l-o-v-e around our humble abode!
I've never been one to decorate for Valentine's, BUT, this year, I just wasn't ready to take down the tree from our kitchen island. Soooo, I replaced our elves and gingerbread men with inexpensive hearts of different colors and textures, red and white striped mesh and ribbon filled with glittery hearts:
Aren't these felt hearts from Target the cutest? You'd never know that they're Christmas ornaments, would you? A sweet friend I met through Facebook suggested I take a peek at them. They're perfect (especially at 50% off)!
Love all the glitter:
A vintage "love" note is a great filler and down below is one of a few ornaments Jax made (from Michael's):

Of course, I couldn't stop there ... so, I added inexpensive heart bowls (from Wal-Mart) filled with good ol' Brach's *rot-your-teeth-out* candy hearts:
Annnnd, up on our shelves (a la Becca), I left the red and white polka dot bowl from Christmas and then decided to mimick it by adding a canister full of Valentine gumballs (from Cracker Barrel), as well as miniature red and white Christmas balls to a clear wine glass:
And, since the lampshade says "patisseries," it was only fitting that I place a sweet *faux* treat under the cloche:
Over to the left ... I brought back a white tray and then added a red striped napkin and placed our scale on top of that ... shiny red apples took the place of our sweet treats from Christmas.
And, well, I was happy to bring back my "summer" cookbooks ... yes, folks, I'm ready for warm weather!
Self-adhesive hearts (with my chicken scratch) add a bit of color and whimsy to our glass canisters:
This candle was lonely until I paired it with leftover hearts ... what an inexpensive way to add a bit of fun ... I *know* you have a lonely candle somewhere, too, just waiting for a bit of company!
Of course, I couldn't forget the soffit:
I love our little tree all lit up ... hmmmm, a St. Patty's tree might just be next! LOL
Have a fabulous weekend ... thanks so much for stopping by!

ReplyDeleteHi Becca,
ReplyDeleteI love all of the ideas you shared for Valentine's Day...so clever! I especially like the candle surrounded by "Conversation Hearts" and think I have just the place for something like that. I like the fact that you reused things you had on hand for so much of your decorating. Great post!
Cheryl

What great inspiration! I bought some of those cute out hearts at Target the other day, just in case I figured out a craft project for them! I also have 2 strings of pink heart-shaped lights I picked up in the dollar bin at Target last year and a small tree that just may need a Valentine's re-do! My grandbabies will love it and the house won't look so nakey after all the glitz of Christmas is gone. Thanks for sharing! Hugs, Leena
ReplyDeleteThis is amazing!!! Beautiful - am starting to blend in a bit of Valentines but will mainly
ReplyDeletehave snowflakes and snowmen for January and will change over to Valentines the end of the month for February. (I worked in Christian schools and that is what I did there for bulletin boards etc.)
Gorgeous decor. I may have to imitate your mantel idea...love it, love it, love it
ReplyDeleteBecca you know I am your biggest fan!! How cute is your kitchen all decorated for Valentine's Day!! I just may do a little something myself even though I NEVER decorate for that Holiday!!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Cricket
Becca, that tree is just adorable. Such a great idea to turn it into Valentine's. I never decorate for Valentine's day but I might just start.
ReplyDeleteMarianne :)
I love it!!!! I already have my Valentine mantle up! It comes and goes so fast so I am enjoying it while I can. Becca, it all looks wonderful! You are super awesome!
ReplyDeleteNote to self... need to make run to Target!
I haven't taken Jemma's garland down on her canopy yet so I may just have to hang some hearts on it! You truly do inspire me! I don't do much but I am inspired!!! Ha! How about this weather? I sat in tank top in the back today! Oh yeah!!!
This is so fun, Becca!! I love the tree and all of your containers of candy! That candle set in the candy is such a fantastic idea...I have to try it! Thanks for the inspiration!!
ReplyDeleteXO,
Jane
Becca, this is the cutest tree! I love it! I think this needs to move to my house! LOL! You're making me want to decorate for Valentine's Day! Adorable!
ReplyDeleteLove the tree transformation! Of course, the conversation hearts wouldn't last a day in my house (not my girls, me - I would gobble those babies up)! Also loving the cute heart labels on your glass jars
ReplyDeleteKelly
Your tree looks so sweet & it was a super idea to transform it from Christmas to Valentine's Day.
ReplyDeleteCute! You should decorate for Mardi Gras. Fat Tuesday is 2/21!
ReplyDeleteSo cheery, Becca! What a wonderful way to add the love.
ReplyDeleteSo much fun Becca!! What cute Valentines touches!! :)
ReplyDeleteBecca can you please come and help me!?Ha! I did manage to take down all Christmas outside this weekend. My goal is to have inside fully done by the weeks end. I have been playing with paint instead! Thanx again for teaming up with me for the giveaway! I know Martina will be super excited!
ReplyDeleteAll your Valentine's decor is adorable. I just might have to do the candle surrounded with hearts-thing; it is so cute & easy. Other than that, after packing all the Christmas stuff away, I've imposed a moratorium on purchasing any seasonal items. Yeah, well we shall see how that goes!
ReplyDeleteCAS
That tree looks so cute all decked out for Valentines Day! You've definitely added a lot of cute decorations for that holiday. I love all of the red and white combinations you did.
ReplyDeleteBecca-What a darling post- You are way ahead of me! I love all your sweet decorations for Valentines' Day! xo Diana
ReplyDeleteWhat fun and so cheerful now that all the Christmas decorations are down. It won't be long till Valentine's Day. :)

Be a sweetie,

Look at you, all gussied up for Valentine's Day! I do like all your cutie ideas. May borrow the candy hearts as a candle filler idea. ♥
ReplyDeleteHi Becca, The Valentine decorations are so cute! Love the tree on the island and the hearts around the candle...too cute!! You didn't waste any time...I just got my Christmas out of the house and all of my tables are bare. The kitchen is still empty! lol...looks like noone lives here. I did buy some supplies for a Valentine mesh wreath I'm going to make soon. I'm starting to gear up for spring too...I'm going to market in a few weeks. I am in desparate need of supplies!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you like the piano there. I need the space in my craft room and that was the only possible solution. I do like the change and hope the iron chest looks ok once it's decorated.
I looked at your last post a while back, but I don't know if I left a comment. You really did alot of painting last year! Everything looks awesome!! Paint really does transform a piece. Have a great day! Kristen
The candy around the candle is darling. The large Target hearts are great for Valentines.
ReplyDeleteLove it, Becca! The felt hearts are adorable on your Valentine tree!
ReplyDeleteWell, that is just the cutest Valentines Tree ever! Love all your other decorations, too!
ReplyDeleteLooks adorable! And of course, I LOVE all the red, the glitter, etc. You must have the energy of that little pink rabbit that just keeps going & going. :-) You really did a great job with all this...which is totally Becca!
