Our 2015 Fall Front Porch

Hi, friends!

I'm not used to greeting you out here, BUT, because Halloween is this weekend, I wanted to show your our little front porch dressed up for the trick-or-treaters.

Let's start on over here, where I put together our fall pumpkin topiary.  I've done these for quite a few years, but since, sadly, my other matching urn broke,  I only got to make one.  Off in the distance, you might see little window box I ordered from Ebay ... we're going to paint it the same color as the shutters on the 2nd floor ... until then, I added a simple bunch of leaves to dress up our window a little bit.

These *nuisance* crows are picking and pecking away at our leafy garland and windows!

And, I couldn't help but to make my signature "BOO" wreath again this year ... hoping that the magnetic hook that is holding it up doesn't come crashing down!

Our little witch is ready to cast her spells, so watch out!

Don't worry ... as you can see, she's a "good" happy witch!

Maybe she can cast a spell and make these large, scary spiders go away!

They've taken over our house ... and the yard!

Honestly, I love having fun with the creepy crawlers this time of year ... hope our little guests approve!

Thanks for stopping by!

Our 2015 Halloween Sitting Room

Happy Day, friends!

Can you believe that Halloween is only 2 1/2 weeks away?!

I'm really excited to share what's going on in our sitting room, especially since I'm not really one to decorate a lot for Halloween.

Yup, my son was thrilled and surprised when I took a stab at a Halloween mantel, which then turned into Halloween room, dressed in black, white and orange!

Not only is it all ready for Halloween, but there have been a few other changes, too!  One thing you might notice is that I replaced our curtains with this awesome fabric from IKEA ... I seem to be having a little romance with buffalo check these days!

My sweet witch was happy to come out of our stuffy bin and onto our mirrored accent chest, where she can watch over everyone ... we better be good or she might open the pages of her book and cast a spell!

Of course, it's not Halloween without teeth rotting candy corn, now is it?

Another change in this room is that we added floating shelves!  I'm a big fan of them ... you get the "look" or function of a bookcase, with the expense.

Our little Martha Stewart mice have had fun playing around on them.

Another big change in here is that we added plank above our newly added faux fireplace!  Woo Hoo ... we love it!

Lowe's cut our wood for us, and then my hubs and I knocked it out in a few hours ... big impact without the big price tag!

Of course, I *had* to add my favorite faux brick panel behind the fireplace surround and then painted it with leftover Rustoleum gloss paint.  And, of course, a roaring "chalk" fire was in order, too!

Over on this wall, I added two black and white prints from IKEA to each side of the "Pure White" vintage secretary that I recently moved in here.

And, because I had painted the back of the secretary duck egg blue some time ago (annnnd didn't feel like painting it again), I simply taped black and white scrapbook paper over top of it to tie in with the black and white theme!

It won't be long before the orange will be replaced with Christmas red!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Our 2015 Fall Sunroom

Happy Friday, friends!

Welcome to our little sunroom ... set off of the kitchen ... and a place where I  tend to spend a lot of time.

And, having painted this room Ben Moore's "Palladian Blue" earlier this year, I decided to keep our Fall decor more on the neutral/minimum side ... so that this room would, hopefully, still give off a *calm* vibe.

I also decided to, temporarily, remove our white slipcovered wing chairs and replace them with the smaller arm chairs from our dining room ... I hope to add skirts to them soon.

You won't find too much orange in here ... just a couple of faux cotton branches (Kirkland's) and little white pumpkin (Michael's).

A few Fall magazines add a little bit of color on the lower shelf of our new (super inexpensive) coffee table from IKEA.

And, off in the distance, a beautiful new pillow I ordered (designed by Lucy from Craftberry Bush), adds just the right amount of Fall to the loveseat.

I also brought back the seasonal artwork (from Home Goods) to dress up the walls.

I love the autumnal scenes of them ... the calmness.

Yes, this room is simplistic (compared to what I normally do), but still hopefully welcoming of the new season.

I'll be back soon to share lots more of our Fall home.

Thanks so much for visiting,

Our 2015 Fall Dining Room ... and Blog Hop

Happy Monday, friends and welcome to our Fall dining room!

I'm happy to be sharing it today as part of a fun Fall blog hop, hosted by the sweet and talented Pamela (From My Front Porch to Yours).

Admittedly, I have a confession to make ... we have never eaten a meal in here.  Ever.  Please tell me I'm not alone in neglecting one's dining room.

Yes, it's true, I have never served a yummy soup in this pretty tureen in here.

It only sits here on "display" surrounded by faux pumpkins and a colorful Fall garland (Michael's).

I "can" say that we at least walk "through" our dining room every day (does that count?) ... so we can enjoy the colors of the season that I added to our buffet.

Of course, it wouldn't be Fall if there wasn't a little bling added, now would it?

I can never have enough of these Fall "picks" (Michael's) ... so easy to add to an arrangement, garland or to tuck around the base of a lamp.

Cute bowls from Home Goods remind us what the season is all about.

You can't really tell, but our "HARVEST" banner dresses up our window a bit.

And, over on our floating shelves, I kept it a bit simple by only adding a few white painted pumpkins ...

and, a pretty plate (from Wal-mart).

Over on the other wall, a plate gallery gives it life.

And, even though *I'm* not a fan of liquor, you can see that, apparently, our friends are, which is why I need to replace a couple of those empty bottles!

Honestly, I think the reason that we don't eat at this table is because I have flashbacks of the time that "this" happened at our former home!  (LOL)  I don't want to risk that happening while we're actually sitting at the table!  Woops.

Thanks so much for joining me in our Fall dining room ... where we never eat.  I'm going to change that!

Please be sure and visit these awesome ladies ... you're sure to be amazed by their Fall spaces!

Have a great day,
