I thought I'd give the inside of our home a break and spruce up the outside a bit ... especially since my beautiful friend, Vanessa, and her awesome sister, Heather, are hosting a fun Blogger Block Party coming up soon, which will include a back deck/patio party, along with many others! Please visit their amazing blog, At The Picket Fence, (which full of talent, sentiment, wit, yummy recipes and their creative, inspiring projects), for more details! And, I also want to thank Vanessa so very much for recently featuring my blog ... such a sweet surprise, which I sincerely appreciate!
Here is one corner of our back patio (I look forward to sharing the rest of it, as well as our porch, at the blog block party). The rockers here used to be painted black. And, just as I was about to spray paint them ORB, they screamed out for color. So, that's what I gave them! Two coats of Rustoleum Sunrise Red later and there they are in all their glory:
This is what the *tired* rockers looked like before:
I found this beautiful, little mosaic table at Pier One (SALE!) ... the colors are so pretty and tie in beautifully with the striped accent pillows (WalMart) that I placed on the rockers.
I redid the floral arrangements in the wall planters up above. And, yes, I confess, I do NOT have a green thumb ... instead, I have a silk one!
I love mixing apple green, red and yellow together:
Think I might have to spend some time out here this afternoon ...
... that is, after I put a finishing touch on a patriotic wreath that my sweet friend in Virginia asked me to make for her:
Thanks for stopping by ... have a great day !!

Love it Becca! I have red rockers and so far they are my favorite out there.
ReplyDeleteLove it, love it, love it! When can you get to Mississippi and work on my stuff????
ReplyDeleteI will trade you a week's worth of "southern" home cooked, rib sticking meals for a week of your beautiful decorating? LOL

ReplyDeleteReminds me of Sammy Haggar (the red rocker)! Sorry...my attempt at humor this morning!

ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful! And red was the perfect color choice for those rockers!
ReplyDeleteBecca, your porch looks great. We have worked for two days on ours and just got the first coat of paint on before it got too hot. So glad you will be joining the party. I have the decks and porch party. Hope I get mine done.

Thanks so much, AguaMarina! (I wasn't able to reply to your sweet note through e-mail as you are set up as a "nonreply.")
ReplyDeleteLove this and the fun tiger print accent pillow with the red...just wonderful!
ReplyDeleteLiesl :)
Red DEFINITELY rocks!!! LOVE it and love your faux green thumb. LOL!!! Wish I lived near you, I'd love to come over!!
ReplyDeleteThe red is awesome! I love the pillows with it. I have a really stupid question. I have a rocker in my house and a parson's bench. I am afraid if I spray paint them and put them outside, they will rot and fall apart. They both have a finish on them that I think I would have to sand off. I don't know! Oh Spray Painting Goddess... what is your advice!
ReplyDeleteIt looks great! The chairs really do pop. The red is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteTalk about curb appeal! That red just pops. Girl, you"rocked this look. :)

ReplyDeleteOH! I just now saw this Becca!! You are just too sweet for mentioning us and promoting the Blogger Block Party! Your friendship to us means so much, my friend and you know how much I love everything you do so I know that what you are getting ready for the party will be fantastic. Just like these awesome rockers! And I absolutely love that mosaic table too. I'm thinking we could just keep the red theme going and I could bring over a bottle of Oregon Pinot Noir and we could sit in those red rockers together! Probably couldn't drink and rock at the same time though...might get a bit "tipsy". Hee Hee!
ReplyDeleteVanessa
Oh, Becca, the red is the perfect color for the rockers and for your back patio!! And that lil' side table couldn't be more fitting for tying all the colors together! Love it!!
