Autumn's in the Air Blog Hop

Happy Friday!

If this is your first time here, "welcome!"  I'm Becca ... an avid, if not obsessed, decorator who lives here in Virginia with my husband and son in a house we've called "home" for the last three years.  Admittedly, this is my favorite time of year to decorate ... so I'm truly excited to be joining several amazing women for an "Autumn's in the Air" home tour, hosted by my kind and talented friend, Sheila, from Maison de Cinq.  If you're coming over from Annie's (Zevy Joy) absolutely gorgeous home, thanks for stopping by!

When you first walk into our foyer, you might notice that I have a slight love for symmetry ... like here on our accent table.  It doesn't matter the season, this gal needs balance.

You might also notice our Fall colors are more on the muted side ... a complete opposite of how I've decorated this space in the past.  While I love the bolder tones of Fall, change can be good, right?

Over on our foyer's back wall, I filled an oversized wicker tray (Home Goods) with lots of pumpkins and leaves, and then flanked it with vases filled with faux wheat.  As much as I love real wheat, it is not fun to clean up, soooo, faux it is!  The paper leaf garland was made on a rainy day, from the pages of a book I had on hand.

These cute fabric chevron pumpkins didn't "make the cut" for filling the basket, but only because I thought they deserved to stand out on their own.

To the left of this table, you'll see our little church bench that has made the rounds in our house, most recently landing right here in this little niche ... I'm starting to think it was meant for this spot.  I wasted no time in covering it with lots of simple Fall goodies.  I then paired this gorgeous mirror (Kirkland's) with a beautiful magnolia wreath (Magnolia Market).  It's all about layers this time of year!

Right off of our foyer is the sitting room where I continued the softer shades of the season ...

I forgot I had these dark yellow pillows in my stash ... I just *had* to add them to our chairs (IKEA) to bring a bit of Fall life to them!

On this side, our love seat (IKEA) serves as a neutral backdrop to a soft Fall throw (TJ Maxx).  Chargers (also from IKEA) and simple white plates fill the space above until I find something else ... for now, a super inexpensive way to add "art" and cool texture to your wall.

I keep saying that I'm going to enjoy a lazy Fall afternoon in here, by the roaring "faux" fire ... maybe this weekend!

When it was time to mix in a metal, I was going to add gold, but I couldn't turn my back on this cute owl when going through our Fall bins ... so mercury won!

That then led to adding mercury pumpkins (Pottery Barn) ...

annnd a silver tray (GoodWill) to tie it all together.

As a finishing touch, I always love adding Fall branches.  Real or faux, they look great in every home and immediately welcome the season!

Let's peek into our dining room, which I've admitted numerous times before is the most neglected room in our home.

You would "think" that this Fall tablescape is getting ready to be messed up by a delicious family meal.  Alas, no.

I keep saying ONE of these years, we are going to "give thanks" in here!

Maybe even actually fill this soup tureen with a warm soup or chili on a crisp Fall night ...

and then enjoy it in our cute Fall bowls (Home Goods).

Maybe ... just maybe ... we'll have to pull up this wicker chair (IKEA) to the head of the table and enjoy a small feast!

Yes, it's time these turkey plates were filled with meat and potatoes and then introduced to the dishwasher!

Sounds good, right?

Well, friends, that ends my little tour ... I truly appreciate your taking the time to visit.  I hope you'll stop back by in the coming weeks to see more of our Fall home, including our great room.

The next stop on our Fall tour is at Styled with Lace!  I can't wait to see Kim's and Lacey's (a fabulous mother daughter team) gorgeous homes dressed up for Fall ... you won't want to miss it!

Links to all of the tours are listed below!

Have a great day,

Becca

  7. I cannot imagine why you don't spend time in that fantabulous dining room. Is it because all of your rooms are phenomenal and you just don't have enough time? ;) Love it all, thanks for sharing the hop. Going to check them out now!
